Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-14
This Cookie Policy explains how MetaCV uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. The data controller is METACV LIMITED (see the Privacy Policy for full details).
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — such as your browser's local storage — work the same way. They help a website function, remember your choices, and keep you signed in.
The cookies we use
Strictly necessary & functional
— required for the Service to work or to honour a choice you have made; these cannot meaningfully be switched off without breaking the Service. They include:- Authentication cookies set by our infrastructure provider (Supabase) to maintain your logged-in session.
- Third-party sign-in cookies set by Google and LinkedIn only if you choose to sign in with one of those providers. These are governed by Google's and LinkedIn's own privacy and cookie policies.
- Interface preference — remembering a choice you have made, such as your interface language, so the Service behaves the way you expect. Under data protection rules this is a functional cookie exempt from consent, because it simply delivers a feature you asked for.
What we do not use
We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or cross-site trackers. We do not currently use any analytics cookies, and we have no plans to introduce cookie-based tracking. Any future audience measurement we adopt will be privacy-first and cookie-free by design.
Managing your cookies
The only cookies we set are strictly necessary or functional, so the Service relies on them to work. You can still control or delete cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them will prevent you from signing in or remembering your preferences.
Do we ask for consent?
Because every cookie we use is essential or functional, none of them requires your consent under UK or EU rules, and we do not display a consent banner. We would only introduce a consent banner — with the ability to accept or reject each non-essential category as easily as the other — if we ever added a cookie that is not exempt (for example, a cookie-based analytics or advertising tool). We have no plans to do so.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service evolves. If we introduce any new category of cookie, we will update this page and, where required, ask for your consent before it is used.
