Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MetaCV (the "Service"), operated by METACV LIMITED ("MetaCV", "we", "us"), a company incorporated in England and Wales (company number 17259803), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

MetaCV is an online service that helps you build a structured career profile (your "MetaCV") and create, organise, and refine CVs, cover letters, and related career materials. The Service is an aid to preparing your career documents; it does not guarantee any job, interview, or outcome. You remain responsible for the accuracy and final content of any document you send to a third party.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using it, you confirm that you are 16 or over and able to enter into a binding contract.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. Notify us promptly at notice@metacv.ai if you suspect unauthorised use.

4. Plans, Trial and Pricing

The Service offers free and paid plans. The current plans, their features, the terms of any free trial, and all prices are those shown on our website and presented to you at the time you subscribe. We may change our plans and prices; any change applies to your next billing cycle and we will give you reasonable notice. The plan and price you signed up for continue to apply until the end of your current paid period.

5. Billing, Renewal and Cancellation

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment provider. We do not store your card details.

6. Fair Use

Where a plan offers unlimited generation, "unlimited" means normal individual job-search use. To protect the Service for everyone, we apply reasonable fair-use safeguards against automated, bulk, or abusive generation. We may apply temporary limits or contact you if usage is clearly inconsistent with ordinary personal use.

7. Right of Withdrawal (Consumers in the EU/UK)

If you are a consumer, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital services. Because the Service is supplied immediately on subscription, you will be asked at checkout to request immediate access and to acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal once the service has begun. Where this acknowledgement is given, refunds are governed by §5.

8. Your Content

You retain all rights to the content you upload (your CVs, the information you provide) and to the documents the Service generates for you. You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide and improve the Service to you. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train AI models (see our Privacy Policy). You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content you provide and that it is accurate.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Service unlawfully or to create false, misleading, or fraudulent documents; upload content that infringes others' rights; attempt to access the Service by automated means beyond normal use; reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload the Service; or use it to build a competing product. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

10. Our Intellectual Property

The Service itself — its software, design, models integration, and branding — is owned by METACV LIMITED or its licensors. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not transfer any ownership in the Service to you.

11. AI-Generated Output

The Service uses AI to generate text. AI output can contain errors or omissions and should be reviewed before use. You are responsible for checking any generated CV, cover letter, or other document before relying on or sending it. We make no warranty that generated content is accurate, complete, or fit for a particular application.

12. Service Availability

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and may carry out maintenance, with reasonable notice where practicable.

13. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, the Service is provided "as is", and to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of opportunity, or loss arising from your reliance on generated content or from any hiring outcome. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or where required by law. On account deletion, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will post the updated version with a new date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident in the EU or elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence, and may bring proceedings there where the law allows.
